AACRAO offers membership options designed to meet you where you are in your professional journey. Whether you’re an individual practitioner or representing an institution, each membership type provides tailored access to the resources, connections, and insights that support your work in higher education.

Institutional Membership

Institutional membership in the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) is open to postsecondary degree-granting institutions in the United States accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Membership in Canada is open to institutions approved by the local provincial government and authorized to grant degrees. Institutions outside the U.S. and Canada are eligible for the International Institutional category. Institutional memberships hold voting member status. Membership fees are based on total institutional expenditure.

Affiliate institutional membership in the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) is open to state-licensed postsecondary institutions that are ineligible for regular voting membership. Affiliate memberships are non-voting. Membership fees are based on total institutional expenditure.

Organizational membership in the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) is available to public sector and private non-profit associations whose interests are closely aligned to AACRAO. State higher education coordinating boards, other higher education associations, accrediting bodies and international ministries of education all fit under this category. Organizational memberships are non-voting.

System Office Membership in the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) is available to centralized offices within postsecondary higher education systems. This membership applies exclusively to staff at offices serving an entire system and is not available to staff at individual institutions within that system. System Offices hold voting member status.

International Institutional Membership in the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) is available to postsecondary institutions outside of the U.S. and Canada that are recognized by the Ministry of Education or equivalent governing body of their country and authorized to grant degrees. International Institutions hold voting member status.

Individual Membership

Individual membership is designed for professionals seeking direct access to AACRAO’s tools, insights, and community. Whether you’re advancing in your career or staying current in the field, this option connects you to the knowledge and network you need to succeed.

High School membership is open to a registrar, counselor, or other personnel at a secondary school who would benefit from AACRAO membership.

International individual membership is open to education professionals outside of North America, including personnel at secondary or postsecondary institutions, or personnel representing education organizations or agencies.

Retired membership is open to individuals who have worked in the professions represented by AACRAO, have been a member of the Association and are currently retired.

Associate membership is open to voting members of AACRAO who lose employment and become no longer eligible for membership. These individuals are eligible to apply for Associate membership, limited to one membership year. Associate members must be recommended by an active AACRAO member.

AACRAO for Admissions

Members gain access to timely research, best practices, and a nationwide network of peers, helping them make informed decisions while advancing equitable and strategic enrollment goals.

AACRAO for Transfer

AACRAO connects transfer professionals to the expertise and frameworks needed to simplify pathways and support student mobility. Through shared standards, innovative practices, and collaborative communities, members are better positioned to remove barriers, improve articulation, and champion student success across institutions.

AACRAO for International

AACRAO provides international education professionals with critical resources to evaluate global credentials, understand complex systems, and stay ahead of regulatory changes. Membership offers a gateway to specialized knowledge, global perspectives, and a community of experts dedicated to advancing international student success.
